Hair types:
There are basically three types of hair: oily, dry and normal.
Oily hair:
When the oil glands in the scalp secrete excess oil, it travels down the hair shat, causing excessive oiliness on the scalp and hair. The oily hair appears lank, dark and coarse.
Dry hair:
In contrast to the oily hair condition, dry hair is a result of the lack of sebum and oil on the hair causing it to dry out at cellular level. Flakiness of the scalp ad dandruff is a direct result of dryness. The hair looks limp, becomes less elastic and is more susceptible to breakage and damage.
Normal Hair:
It is healthy, silky hair without over-dry ends or over-oily roots. It is the easiest to cope and care for.
The principle of care for oily hair and scalp condition is the same as used for oily skin condition.
The hair routine aims at removing the excess oil and to exfoliate skin cells which clog up and suffocate the hair follicles which lead to hair loss and other scalp disorders.
The emphasis is laid on cleansing and toning routines. The cleansing routine involves washing and rinsing the hair. Since the hair has to be washed as frequently as it gets dirty and oily, a natural shampoo on a formulation of herbs such as amla, shikakai, trifla is ideal.
The ideal shampoo is always gentle in action; through in dissolving the grime and at the same time not harsh like a detergent shampoo.

The hormones are different, blood is different, and chemicals responsible for hair growth are present in varying amounts. So this tells us that separate analysis of male and female hair loss need to be carried out. A well known thing about hair loss is that it runs in the family. For instance, if your father suffered from hair loss since his adolescence, there are high chances that you will also start the same problem at the same age.
The gene responsible for hereditary hair loss, SOX 21 was discovered in 2009 and can be used to determine whether or not you will suffer from hair loss in future. But testing this gene specifically is very expensive and you are at risk. But instead, you can look at whether your father or grandfather suffered from hair loss during their young time.
